We have really gained a lot from using the Milly and Miles resources - Ofsted really liked the way the resources encourage praise and encouragement throughout each activity and the storybook really helps you praise children throughout the story and in circle time.
Milly and Miles helped us though our inspection and we were very happy with our improved grade! Easy to use, really helps children develop listening and sharing skills - the links to the EYFS are a great help with planning - we have used the resources over and over again both indoors and outdoors.
The pack provides lots of innovative ideas - the guidance disc filmed in the setting is excellent - shows each activity in practice with children and adults using the equipment . Fabulous value for money and so easy to use in practice.
The children love them! It's also great that it they have been developed for use alongside resources we already have our setting.
I really recommend these products as they are so flexible and adaptable -excellent value for money!

The staff team really liked using the various M & M resources especially the coloured gel timers and sitting mats to promote personal space
.
The staff agreed that the activities could be adapted to support older or a younger smaller group or children and individual children.
The team loved that the different activities were designed to support children's social and emotional skills, turn taking, sharing, and building concentration skills.
We observed that they aided and supported many skills and our intentions had a purpose for individual or small groups of children to engage and interact together whilst being engaged with the various activities
The staff team liked that the activity cards in the folder provided lots of suggestions. Staff could also adapt these to extend the suggested ones or make other additional activities.
These also provided initial ideas to support children with learning needs and can be adapted to meet the individual needs of children providing a focus to implement a child's next steps having a positive impact and encourage meaningful learning

I was so pleased to receive this item which I recently purchased. It is excellent quality and great value for money, compared to some other resources I'd previously bought. I had become worried about his communication skills and nursery had mentioned that they also had some concerns. He really loved the characters and began to interact with them immediately, particularly when using the storybook. The book really helped me and my child and contained some great ideas to develop his communication and express himself more.
Nursery have begun to use them too with him and his speech and interaction has definitely improved. Now he nearly always chooses Milly and Miles when its story time! I would really recommend these resources!

I really recommend this story and doll set as one of the best i have ever used for supporting communication skills with young children. They children engaged with the dolls straight away and Milly and Miles quickly became part of the gang!
The children enjoyed and actively related and interacted with them naturally whilst the story book really encouraged interactions between the children and adults which brought the characters of Milly and Miles to life!
Children are encouraged to discuss and express different feelings, likes and dislikes and are supported to follow the child friendly text and illustrations.
The guidance on how to adapt the story for different abilities is excellent and allows the book to be used repeatedly to learn new concepts, such as colour number and language.- An excellent teaching tool!

Let's Learn with Milly and Miles Timer Set
Both my partner and I have used the different Milly and Miles gel timers to encourage and support our 3 children, Isaac, Tia and Kat to share and turn take when they are playing with their toys
They like to watch the large rainbow coloured gel timer when they are going to sleep as it helps them to relax.
We also use this timer to help children have turns on the I-Pad or computer which helped them to understand how much time they have left to wait and take turns which has been a great help.
As parents we also both discovered that these simple resources help to support our children's knowledge and understanding of basic rules and boundaries, helping us to teach our children patience and negotiation skills whilst they shared and took turns without arguments.
We have recommended them to our friends and other family members too.

Let's Meet Milly and Miles Story Sack
The staff introduced the children to Milly and Miles in the nursery through the activity story book followed by the animated film
We all had fun getting to know the characters through active discussions. The children enjoyed sharing their thoughts with each other as they responded to the staff asking thought provoking questions. The children slowly began to enjoy getting used to using their own personal sitting mats, which provide personal space for them to join in group activities and discussions.
We noticed that the mats helped children remain more focused and developed their concentration, as they actively participated in activities whilst sharing, watching and listening to the other children's and adults ideas
The staff encouraged the children to discover many key aspects using the Milly and Miles dolls as role models which help the children become absorbed in their play as they learn many key skills
Children became excited when we shared many different learning experiences using the characters to explain many emotional and behaviour responses which encourages emotional intelligence.
Various aspects were shared such as being sad, worried, anxious or frustrated and what the characters may do when they experience these feelings.
We also shared positive emotions and responses such as kindness, generosity and positive reactions using Milly and Miles as role models and how these feelings may impact us and the dolls and how we can learn to make better choices.
Explaining the difference between good choices and poor choices and how we can learn these skills together to help us all regulate our emotions. This enables and helps the children learn how to manage their choices and decision making skills to form and maintain positive friendships and relations with their peers and adults.
We all adore the characters and how they support the team and the children share lots of different learning experiences through play

Let's have Fun with Milly and Miles Set
We purchased the Let's have Fun ball set in addition to the full Milly and Miles set we had been using to introduce other Milly and Miles concepts.
The children had been so excited with all the characters and other resources we initially introduced and we had observed lots of positive impact upon their learning and development.
We also had some great feedback from parents and carers as their children shared their daily play experiences alongside the Milly and Miles characters.
They also valued the reward stickers and certificates to evidence their children's contributions and participation towards their learning.
The activity and visual prompt cards included in this pack provides the staff with ideas on how to introduce activities and a range of additional ideas to extend and enhance our children's learning and development.
These initial ideas where then also extended by our team and used alongside other resources within our nursery which helped to utilise our equipment in different ways. This helped to sustain and extended various learning aspects for children in both our indoors and outdoor areas.
On special occasions the children would use the characters creatively to join in their role play, music, dance and outdoor adventures, which supported speech language and their understanding of the wider world
